The government has appointed Foreign Minister Eli Cohen as the chairman of the committee to approve senior appointments in the foreign service.
Minister Cohen indicated that he would act according to a bill he initiated according to which diplomats would be required to declare recognition of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state.
