The Attorney General closed the investigation against former Mossad head Yossi Cohen for receiving funds from Australian billionaire businessman James Packer for his daughter's wedding in the summer of 2016.

The state prosecutor and head of the Investigation and Intelligence Division of the Israel Police recommended closing the file.

"The decision was made based on the findings of the preliminary investigation, which was opened by order of the previous Attorney General, and substantiated by the order of the current Attorney General. The investigation revealed, among other things, that the legal advisor of the Mossad at the time gave approval for the receipt of the funds. It also emerged that the offense may have justified continuing investigation at the criminal level for breach of trust of a public servant, however, the statute of limitations expired in the summer of 2021, close to the time when the relevant information reached law enforcement authorities, and the preliminary examination of the matter had not yet begun."
