Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar met with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Teignani, at the home of the Italian Ambassador to Israel, Sergio Brabanti.

The two discussed the cooperation between the countries in the fields of sports and culture, with the background of two major sports events that will take place this year in which Israel also participates and sends representatives: the Giro d'Italia (cycling) and the Ryder Cup (golf).

"Italy is a wonderful country, you are a wonderful people. I want to congratulate you on the cooperation you intend to have with Israel, which includes the field of sports. We are working to develop the field of sports here in Israel and reach new heights. We would be happy to hold the Giro d here again. You will find us excellent partners, in all respects.
