Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir expressed support for the officer who threw a stun grenade during a demonstration against the judicial reform, leading to his being questioned by the department for investigation of police officers.

"The decision to summon officer Meir Suissa, along with other police officers, for investigation sends a very bad message of lack of backing to the Israel Police officers. With this decision, the Police Investigation Department turns itself into a political body. When it was about Ahuvia Sandak, they ignored the case. Here, when a main traffic artery was being blocked, they summon officers for investigation."

"If it was a demonstration by haredim or Ethiopians, we wouldn't have even heard of it," claimed Ben-Gvir. "I support Corporal Meir Suissa and all the Israel Police officers who face very difficult challenges all year round and even more so during this period in order to maintain the security of the residents of the State of Israel."
