In an interview with CNN, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy defended the decision not to withdraw from the besieged city of Bakhmut and instead rush more forces to the area despite heavy losses suffered in fighting with the Russians.
"After Bakhmut - the Russian forces will have an open way to conquer other cities such as Kramatorsk and Slavyansk," said Zelenskyy.
