Senior American jurist Michael B. Mukasey, who served as a federal judge for 20 years and the Attorney General under President George W. Bush, spoke to Israel Hayom and voiced his opinion against the American government's interference in the legal reform being legislated in Israel.

"This matter should be resolved by the people living in Israel and not by those outside of it. Israelis will live with the results, not those from the outside," said Mukasey.

Regarding the comments heard from the current American administration on the reform, the American jurist said they should stop interfering. "It is a long-standing diplomatic practice that countries do not interfere in the internal affairs of other states. It was unusual for people here to make comments regarding an internal matter, subject to the decision of Israel and its citizens."
