Professor Jean Tirole, economist and Nobel Prize winner, delivered a lecture at a conference on legal reform at Tel Aviv University.
"There is a trend, not only in Israel, of democratic governments that increased their power by appointing their own judges, who prevented the independence of media bodies. Israel must not follow in the footsteps of these countries," Tirole said.
