National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir condemned the decision to open an investigation against the officer who threw a stun grenade at left-wing protesters in Tel Aviv yesterday (Wednesday).
"I fully support the officer who drove away anarchist rioters last night using a stun grenade. My policy is to give full support to police officers who, unlike security forces, do not sit in an air-conditioned room but are forced to deal with the anarchists," he said.
"If the Department for Internal Police Investigations (who opened the investigation) is acting out of political purposes, it's time to rethink the situation," added Ben-Gvir.
