Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement to the media a short time ago following the riots on the Ayalon road.
"The State of Israel acted forcefully when the demonstrations came from the other side of the aisle. It doesn't matter which side it comes from. The law must be respected. It is forbidden to beat policemen. It is forbidden to disrupt the life of the state, to block major roads.
I understand that there is someone here who aims to create anarchy and his name is Yair Lapid. He says it clearly. He does not want to reach an agreement, he does not respond to our calls for dialogue, which are repeated and are real. He wants to prevent this because he simply wants to bring about a governmental crisis. I would say a constitutional crisis, because by this he means to reach new elections.
No one wants to see our country degenerate into anarchy. We have big tasks ahead of us.
Now, in these moments, we were informed that we captured some of the murderers who murdered our people. Anyone who does this has his own blood on his hands. We will catch them. We will reach them.
We have tasks in common, we have shared security concerns, we have a shared future, and it is time to stop the anarchy."
