The Chief of Staff has directed the members of the General Staff Forum to discuss - each commander in his unit - the initiatives among the reserve soldiers not to report to the reserves if the legal reform is fully passed.
The Chief of Staff stressed that he is aware of the public discourse and the controversy, but will not allow harm to the IDF's ability to maintain the security of the state.
According to the Chief of Staff, the IDF is the people's army in which people of different opinions serve, regularly and in the reserves, and unity of purpose is essential for the IDF's ability and competence to fulfill its tasks.
