US State Department spokesman Ned Price referred to the riots in the PA village of Huwara last night (Sunday) following the murder of two Jews in the town.
"We condemn the widespread and indiscriminate violence by settlers against Palestinian citizens. These acts are unacceptable," Price told reporters.
"We appreciate the statements by Netanyahu and Herzog who called for the situation to calm down. We expect Israel to guarantee that those responsible for this will be prosecuted for their actions in addition to paying compensation to the victims for the damages," he added.
