The chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Yuli Edelstein (Likud), told Reshet Bet about his meeting with the President of Ukraine Zelenskyy: "They expect us not only to deliver humanitarian aid but also to protect the civilian population that is under attack. I am happy that we are making progress in the field of early warning systems".
Regarding former Prime Minister Bennett's attempt to mediate between Zelenskyy and Putin, Edelstein said: "There was no chance of Israeli mediation. It was an excuse for us to sit on the fence at the beginning of the war. We need to be on the right side, not the side with Iran and North Korea."
