Opposition Chairman Yair Lapid commented on a speech by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who accused Lapid of leading to civil war.

Those who want to prevent civil war do not promote hasty and violent legislation that tears the people apart. I was the first to suggest going to the president for talks. Instead of stopping and talking, you run without brakes with crazy legislation that harms the economy, harms security, crushes the unity of the people. On your watch, because of your actions, the high tech sector is falling apart and the big money is fleeing Israel. I suggest that instead of messing around all day with towns like Yitzhar and the Supreme Court, you do something to curb the cost of living because even your constituents don't make it through the month," Lapid said.
