Tani Frank, Director of the Center for Judaism and State at the Hartman Institute, commented on the approval of the Leavened Food Law by the Ministerial Committee on Legislative Affairs.
"Religious coercion harms Judaism. If anyone thinks that banning the introduction of leaven into hospitals will make them more kosher, they are wrong and misleading. This will only lead to provocations from the other side and Judaism will once again become the bone of contention. Leave us with laws of leavened food and religious coercion and stop alienating Jews from Judaism."
