Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology Ofir Akunis (Likud) participated at the annual conference for foreign ambassadors and diplomatic staff of his office.
"I am well aware of the debate surrounding Israel's legal reform," he said. "It is an internal debate that began decades ago and is indicative of Israel as a vibrant democracy. The Knesset, the Israeli parliament, is the sovereign and it reflects the will of the people, as in any real democracy in the world."
At the end of his remarks, Akunis told the ambassadors: "I call on you today to convey a message to your leaders, businesses, and innovation and science communities in your homeland: keep investing in Israel, keep being active, don't let anyone scare you!"
