MK Dan Illouz of the Likud is demanding a cessation of funding for learning materials as well as increased enforcement against incitement in eastern Jerusalem schools.
According to Illouz, "Children in eastern Jerusalem schools learn that terror is a legitimate way of opposing Israel. If these are the cultural heroes (terrorists) of these children, is anyone really surprised that they go out and carry out attacks?"
Illouz also thanked Minister of Education Yoav Kisch (Likud) for his opposition to incitement materials in PA-controlled educational facilities.
"I know that this issue is close to his heart and that he already started acting on it today. It is also important that we in the Knesset take responsibility as a supervisory body. We will cooperate on the issue and together put an end to the wild incitement and save lives," he was quoted as saying.
