The Russian Embassy in the United States said that Russia granted asylum to children who were forced to flee with their families from the shelling in Ukraine. The remarks were made in response to reports that Russia is forcibly detaining Ukrainian children.
"We do our best to look after the children of the families, and in cases of absence or death of parents and relatives - we transfer orphans under guardianship," the embassy statement reads.
