National Unity leader Benny Gantz commented on his meeting this evening (Tuesday) with President Herzog.
"I met this evening with the President of the State as part of a series of talks we are holding on the subject of the coup d'état. His concern for the growing rift in the nation and the strength of Israeli democracy is evident, and his action is extremely important at this time. I presented the President with our central principles regarding the required reform. At the core of the demands - stopping the legislation, not politicizing the judicial system and promoting a comprehensive course that includes a basic law: legislation, and regulating the balance between the authorities. I hope that there will be a response to his initiative, and that Netanyahu will act responsibly and prevent an internal rift in the nation at a time of security and political challenges, and put the state before himself", Gantz commented.
