An Iranian fighter was killed in Syria during an advisory mission, the Fars News agency reported.
Fars is linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC.
The fighter has been identified as Reza Safdari, the agency added.
It is not clear what caused Safdari's death.
Journalist Kian Sharifi added that no further details are available at this time.
