2 killed in plane crash in southern Israel

Emergency teams rushed to Kibbutz Mishmar Hanegev after aircraft crash reported. Two people reported dead in the crash.

Two people were killed in a plane crash in southern Israel Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred just outside of Kibbutz Mishmar Hanegev shortly before noon Tuesday, when a light plane crashed.

Emergency first responders were called to the scene to treat the victims.

Two men were pulled from the crash site, and were treated for their injuries. Both were said to be in critical condition, before being declared dead.

"At 11:32 a.m. the MDA emergency 101 call center received a report of a plane which had crashed near Mishmar Hanegev," MDA said in a statement.

"MDA paramedics and first responders report that there were two men found unconscious."

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Yosef Abu J'apper who was one of the first responders at th scene relayed: "When I arrived at the scene I found two young men who sustained life ending injuries due to their aircraft having crashed. Unfortunately, they were both pronounced dead at the scene."
