Defense Minister Benny Gantz (Blue and White) on Tuesday morning held a Zoom meeting with Home Front Command district commanders and those operating the coronavirus hotels.

Also attending the virtual meeting were Deputy Director General Avi Dadon and Ministry representatives, as well as Home Front Command Commander Major-General Uri Gordin.

The hotel commanders reviewed the situation and told of the challenges and complex issues in operating them, as well as of cooperation from local authorities and the great gratitude of those Israelis staying in the hotels.

"The working assumption needs to be that there will need to be operations until the end of 2021 - meaning the entire working year next year will also be centered around the crisis," Gantz said.

"I unfortunately am having difficulty seeing this end before that, and therefore, your job is to continue to provide this operational-logistic service and to create - for yourselves, the commanders, and the people working on the ground - room to breathe which will allow work over a long period of time."
