According to the National Information and Knowledge Center for Coronavirus' daily report, 1,319 people were diagnosed with coronavirus on Tuesday, marking an all-time high.

The previous high was six days ago, when 1,140 people were diagnosed with coronavirus.

The report noted that 25,570 coronavirus tests were performed on Tuesday, and that 5.2% of them came out positive.

So far, 343 Israelis have died of coronavirus, 12 of them in the past two days. Another 83 coronavirus patients are in serious condition.

Cities with the highest number of infections include Kiryat Malakhi, Bnei Brak, Modi'in Illit, Ra'anana, Kuseife, Kafr Qara, Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, and Tel Aviv.

On Monday night, the government declared a lockdown on Beitar Illit, another hotspot. The lockdown will go into effect at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday.
