Several young haredi men were attacked by four Arabs near Jaffa Gate, in the Old City of Jerusalem.
The young men were attacked when they tried to help young haredi women who were being harassed by the attacking Arabs.
Attorney Haim Bleicher of Honenu, who is representing the young men, sent a letter to the Merhav David police station in Jerusalem, demanding they act to bring the attackers to justice.
In his letter to the police station's chief, Bleicher noted that the attack occurred last week, after the four Arab suspects "harassed haredi girls near the municipality building." The haredi young men requested that the harassers cease and desist, but instead the Arabs began cursing the haredi men, who ignored them and continued making their way towards the Western Wall.
As they neared Jaffa Gate, Bleicher detailed, "the four suspects suddenly appeared 'running like mad' and began beating my clients, with many punches and kicks. One of my clients fell and lay on the ground while the suspects continued beating him violently."
Following the attacks, the suspects ran towards the Old City's New Gate, while the victims turned to police officers at the scene and requested aid. Police forces captured the suspects, and the victims filed a complaint against them for the attack.
"This incident is an attack which occurred under serious circumstances and was anti-Semitic in nature," Bleicher noted, requesting police "act to bring the suspects to court quickly, and to have justice done, before they can continue to commit their crimes and to endanger the security of citizens."
