The Ministry of Health updated on Friday evening that 566 cases of coronavirus had been diagnosed in Israel since midnight, increasing the number of active patients to 10,060.

Since midnight, two more people have died in Israel from the virus, bringing the total to 326. The number of patients in serious condition increased by 12 to 77, of which 27 are on respirators.

The Israel Police announced on Friday that they have been conducting extensive enforcement of the guidelines of the Ministry of Health at recreation centers and businesses nationwide.

According to the police statement, 823 reports have been handed out for various violations - most of them for failing to wear a mask, but also for prohibited gatherings and activity within businesses in contravention of regulations.

In addition, police issued warnings to 96 businesses, 15 business owners were summoned for a hearing and two businesses were closed. A total of 3,320 reports were issued in the last 24 hours, 98% of which were for violations of the order requiring one to wear a mask. This is the largest number of reports since the introduction of the guideline that requires wearing a mask in the public space in April.
