ג'ייסון גרינבלט: להתקדם עם החלת הריבונותi24NEWS

Former U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt told I24 News if there's a chance UAE-Israel relations will be spoiled, Israel then has to weigh that along with everything else in connection with steps to sovereignty.

"What Israel is considering doing is consistent with the plan we released. It's consistent with the idea that this area should not remain in limbo forever, just because the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah and the so-called leadership in Gaza, the terrorist thugs that are Iran-funded, are unable or unwilling to negotiate under any circumstance. It wasn't just our peace plan that they rejected.

"So I think that if Israel were to move forward and embrace the plan that would include application of Israeli sovereignty over these areas, it is something that I personally believe in and that's why I wrote what I did together with our Ambassador David Friedman and Jared Kushner and so many others in the U.S. government.

"But Israel has to take into account multiple issues including the very question you're asking which is: While the UAE was at the release of the plan, and they should be commended for that as well, if there's a chance that the UAE's Ambassador's words are correct and that the relationship will be spoiled permanently, temporarily, it remains to be seen, they have to weigh that along with everything else they're weighing in connection with this step."
