Rabbi Eitan Shnerb, Rina Shnerb's father, spoke last night at the Salute to Religious Zionism and the opening of Mutual Responsibility Week about activity of the association founded in her memory: Kol Rina.

Rabbi Shnerb shared the first thoughts that came to him seconds after the murder. "When I saw Rina right in the first few seconds after the murder," he said, "I looked at her and said to myself, how could there have been a body that was alive a second ago, and now it's not alive.

"In those seconds, I already told myself that we must understand that there is a spirit, that there are things beyond, and that we must spread it, and that's Kol Rina," he added.

One of the first initiatives started by Kol Rina is called Zman Rina, which means "Time to Rejoice", where people reduce cell phone time to spend more time with the family. "The Zman Rina initiative has reached incredible achievements thanks to my nephew Matanya Shnerb, who decided two days after the murder to set up the association. It reached tens of thousands of people who call me today and tell me it saved families.

"Rina was 16, but she cared about a life of values, she cared about giving and kindness, and actually she also cared about rejoicing in time, from the standpoint that cellphones can't dictate our lives. My wife keeps saying it's in Rina's merit," he said.

"Here are the many things the association offers: Scores of Shabbat tables were established in Israel for those in need and those who do not have a Shabbat atmosphere, second-hand clothing stores that pop up every day almost all over the country - this week in Shaalvim, Elon Moreh, Petach Tikva; every day new ones for Rina's ascent."

The Kol Rina Association was founded in memory of Rina Shnerb, who was murdered on Friday, April 23, 2019, at the Ein Dani spring near Dolev. After the murder, and out of pain, the family, who wanted to continue to spread Rina's special light, chose life, connection, and love for the values and traits that characterized Rina. The Association operates and maintains private and public projects on a national scale, with willingness and ambition to expand as far as possible. The various projects all deal with disseminating good and are not-for-profit, with a desire to illuminate, benefit, and bring goodness and kindness to the world.
