During the Finance Ministry's first meeting since the formation of the new unity government, Finance Committee Chairman MK Moshe Gafni (UTJ) demanded that the budget for special education be amended.

Until the budget is amended, he said, "we will not pass the State budget."

"I will repeat today, as well, to the representatives of the Finance Ministry: If the special education budget is not corrected as promised, we will not pass the State budget."

A few months ago, a few representatives from Blue and White in the Finance Committee worked with Gafni to reach agreements with Finance Ministry representatives that they will immediately allow the approval of all budget transfers required for the Education Ministry.

In accordance with the agreements led by MKs Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid-Telem), Mickey Levy (Yesh Atid-Telem), and Avi Nissenkorn (Blue and White), during the current school year, the special education budget for haredi special ed schools will be similar to that of other special education schools.

In addition, a committee will be created which will work to find budgetary solutions for special education in the haredi sector.
