MK Gideon Sa'ar, a senior Likud MK, on Saturday night called for the Likud party to hold primaries.

Speaking on Israel's "Meet the Press" program, Sa'ar said that Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu "will not succeed in forming a government if we hold a third, fourth, or fifth round of elections."

"We can't talk about the Attorney General's decision as if it were a coup. It's not an attempt at a coup, it's not responsible to say that," he said.

Sources close to Netanyahu responded to Sa'ar's statement, saying: "The chairman of the Likud is Prime Minister Netanyahu, who brought the Likud 32 seats, when voters put a slip saying 'Likud, headed by Netanyahu' into the ballot box."

"It's sad to see that while Prime Minister Netanyahu guards the security of Israel on all fronts and works to retain the Likud's power, Gideon Sa'ar, as usual, shows zero loyalty and complete subversion.
