The terrorist responsible for the rape and murder of an Israeli teen in February, 2019 will undergo psychiatric evaluation to determine whether he is fit to stand trial, a Jerusalem court has decided.

Arafat Irafaiya, the 29-year-old Palestinian Arab terrorist from Hevron who raped and murdered 19-year-old Ori Ansbacher on February 6th in the Ein Yael forest in southern Jerusalem, will be sent to psychiatric evaluation, after the Jerusalem District Court agreed to a request filed by Irafaiya’s attorney.

The decision comes following the refusal of the Jerusalem Magistrates Court to send Irafaiya for evaluation while he was being held for questioning.

The next hearing in Irafaiya’s case was scheduled to be held next week, but will now be rescheduled, pending the completion of the psychiatric evaluation.
