IDF Coordinator of Government Activities in Gaza, Col. Iyad Sarhan, issued an appeal to the residents of the Gaza Strip on the Arabic COGAT Facebook page.

In his direct appeal to the residents, Sarhan warned Gazans not to take part in terrorist attacks on the border fence with Israel.

"Residents of Gaza, how do you want to see your next Friday? Are you interested in ending it among family or with unpleasant incidents on the security fence? The IDF will not tolerate events on the security fence. We also want a Friday without casualties among you, but it depends on you, and only in you," wrote Col. Sarhan.

He added, "The IDF will not allow the rioters to approach or harm the security fence, and any attempt to harm IDF soldiers or breach Israeli sovereignty will be met with the IDF's strong response. Keepia distance from the fence area, and thus preserve your safety."
