Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday condemned the terror attack at the Ofra junction earlier this week that caused the death of the baby of Amichai and Shira Ish-Ran.

Amichai Ish-Ran, who was wounded in the attack, is a dual Israeli-Canadian citizen.

“We now know that the infant son of a Canadian, born prematurely after the attack, has died. This heinous terrorist violence targeting civilians is completely inexcusable. May the boy’s memory be a blessing, and may the injured recover,” Trudeau tweeted on Thursday.

Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Chrystia Freeland, condemned the attack in an earlier tweet, saying she was “horrified” by it and adding, “Canada condemns this attack on civilians and wishes all injured a swift recovery.”

Shira Ish-Ran was shot in the lower abdomen in the attack. Doctors were forced to perform a C-Section to deliver her child prematurely. The child was pronounced dead at the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem on Wednesday and was laid to rest later that evening.

The IDF on Wednesday night eliminated one of the terrorists who carried out the attack, Salah Barghouti, and arrested several others.
