Tourism Minister Yariv Levin, who was asked by the Prime Minister to propose two public representatives to serve on the Advisory Committee for the Appointment of Senior Civil Service Officials (the Goldberg Committee), updated the government secretary regarding his proposed appointments - Prof. Talia Einhorn and Moshe Terry.

The appointment of the two will allow the Goldberg Committee to convene and discuss names of candidates to replace Police Chief Roni Alshich and Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot.

Einhorn and Terry were appointed in place of Yaakov Nagel and Iris Stark, who were forced to resign due to their apparent closeness to Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Einhorn is full professor at the Department of Economics and Business Administration at Ariel University, a senior guest researcher at Tel Aviv University's Faculty of Management and a full member of the International Academy of Comparative Law.

Terry holds a BA in Economics and Political Science and an MA in Economics and Business Administration from Bar-Ilan University. He served in a number of senior positions in the public service and the economy, including the Chairman of the Securities Authority and the Director General of the Postal Authority.

MK Betzalel Smotrich (Jewish Home) criticized Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's decision to appoint two new members to the senior appointments committee: "Mistake! It's a pity that the Prime Minister is again accepting the delusional and undemocratic game rules dictated by the jurists, who in fact are transferring authority of appointments from the elected echelon to non-elected officials," said Smotrich.

"It would have been more correct to pass legislation that would cancel the committee and restore the situation to its previous state. The one who bears the responsibility also has the authority," added the Jewish Home MK.
