Arab-Israeli MK Jamal Zahalka slammed Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas for telling Israeli peace activists on Sunday that he regularly finds himself in agreement with Shin Bet head Nadav Argaman.

"The fact that the Palestinian president meets with the head of the Shin Bet regularly is a disaster. But to agree with him in 99% of the subjects is already a mortal blow," tweeted Zahalka.

Abbas told Peace Now activists in Ramallah on Sunday that he “consistently meets with the heads of the Shin Bet—we agree on 99 percent of the issues.

The meeting was attended by Peace Now chief Shaked Morag, Meretz MK Moshe ‘Mossi’ Raz, and Zionist Union MK Ksenia Svetlova, among others.

Abbas also said that representatives of the Trump administration, including President Trump’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, and special envoy Jason Greenblatt, recently asked him if he would accept a final status agreement which included a confederation between the Kingdom of Jordan and the Palestinian Authority.

Abbas added that he said he could accept the arrangement – provided the confederation also include Israel.

“They asked me if I believe in a federation with Jordan,” Abbas said at the gathering. “I said, ‘Yes, I support a triple confederation with Jordan and with Israel’. I asked if the Israelis would agree to the offer.”
