An Red Alert siren was sounded in the Golan Heights and the Jordan Valley Wednesday afternoon.

On the Golan Heights, the siren was heard in Baon, Kibbutz Massada, Ma'agan, Ein Gev, Sha'ar Hagolan and Tel Katzir.

In the Jordan Valley, the siren was heard in the villages of Avni Eitan, Eli Ad, Afik, Bnei Yehuda, Givat Yoav, Gesher, Haspin, Kfar Haruv, Mevo Hama, Mitzar, Neot Golan, Nov, Netor and Ramat Magshimim.

The IDF stated that the alarm was activated as a result of the launching of a Patriot missile at an unmanned aerial vehicle approaching Israel from Syrian territory.

The IDF further stated that the military "will not allow any violation of Israeli airspace and will act against any attempt to hurt its civilians."

In addition, police units in the north at the Sea of Galilee requested that all boats and boat owners make their way to the shore due to security operations taking place in the area of the lake.
