A man was stabbed to death in his home in an Israeli town in Samaria Sunday evening, Israel Police reported.

Emergency medical response teams were called to an apartment in Samaria after a man was found with stab wounds in his home. MDA first responders were later forced to declare the man dead at the scene.

Police have opened an investigation into the stabbing and are gathering evidence from the scene.

Authorities say there is no evidence at this time suggesting that the stabbing was terror-related.

The 39-year-old man was a resident of the Israeli city of Ariel in central Samaria.

The victim's body has been transferred to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for an autopsy.
