The coalition faction head meeting that convened to discuss supporting the Overrule Clause adjourned with an agreement that legislation on the issue would be advanced during the Knesset's summer session. The Clause would allow, under specified conditions, the Knesset to re-enact laws disqualified by the Supreme Court.

However, the meeting was not attended by Kulanu Chairman and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, who is currently abroad. On Sunday party leaders will meet with Minister Kahlon to hear his opinion on the subject.

It was also agreed at the meeting that in parallel with continued discussions, Prime Minister Netanyahu will meet soon with Supreme Court Chief Justice Esther Hayut.

Prime Minister Netanyahu told the party heads today, "We're working to ensure a balance between the legislative branch and the judiciary.

"The issue we are discussing is very weighty and we'll continue to discuss it in coming weeks to arrive at a decision soon."
