A newly-engaged haredi couple was killed in a five-car accident after another driver collided with their car.

The crash occurred on the Nassau Expressway in Inwood, NY, around 1:30 a.m. The couple died in the fire that resulted from the collision.

The couple, Yisrael Levin and Elisheva Kaplan, became engaged last week, and their wedding was scheduled to take place in two months.

According to local news outlets, at least five victims were seriously injured and transferred to local hospitals.

Police arrested two of the injured drivers on suspicion that they were drunk or under the influence of drugs. Eyewitnesses added that the drivers' vision may have been impaired by the heavy fog.

Levin's funeral will be held on Thursday at 11:00a.m. at Yeshiva Darchei Torah Bais Medrash. His body will be flown to Israel Saturday night, to be buried in Beit Shemesh.

Kaplan's funeral will be held on Thursday at Beth David Cemetery.
