Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was rushed to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening after suffering from high fever and coughing.

After he underwent a series of tests at the hospital, it was decided that he would be released to his home in the overnight hours.

"Thank you all for your concern! I'm on my way home. I'm sure a little rest and hot soup will solve everything. Good night," said the prime minister as he left the hospital.

The Prime Minister's personal physician, Dr. Zvi Berkowitz, said earlier on Tuesday that he did not believe that Netanyahu was able to have the rest he required to recover from an illness suffered two weeks ago, and that his symptoms had consequently exacerbated.

The cabinet meeting planned for Wednesday will take place as planned, despite the Prime Minister's illness. Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman will likely replace Netanyahu and preside over the meeting.

The meeting will likely deal with the latest preparations for Hamas' planned marches on Friday, and therefore can not be canceled or postponed.

Yesterday, Netanyahu and his wife Sara and son Yair were questioned under caution by police over a case of alleged corruption involving Israeli telecoms giant Bezeq.
