A helicopter carrying President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law Jared Kushner, was forced to turn back from a flight to New York City and return to Washington DC after the aircraft suffered engine failure.

The incident occurred last Thursday, but details of the incident were only released Sunday night.

During the flight from Washington to Manhattan, the Trump Organization-owned Sikorsky helicopter suffered a failure in one if its two engines, forcing the pilot to turn the aircraft around and return to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Four people were onboard the helicopter during the flight: Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, the helicopter’s pilot, and a bodyguard assigned to the president’s daughter and son-in-law, CNN reported, citing two law enforcement officials.

After the helicopter returned to Ronald Reagan Airport, Ivanka and Jared booked a new flight to New York with a commercial airline.

A spokesperson for the couple declined to comment on the incident.
