Two women were found dead in an apartment in the coastal city of Ashkelon Tuesday.

MDA emergency first responders were dispatched to an apartment building on Efraim Tzur Street in Ashkelon Tuesday, after the bodies of the two 49-year-old women were located.

Both of the women had no vital signs, and were declared dead on the scene.

Authorities say they are investigating the deaths of the two women as murders.

Neighbors say the women, who were twin sisters, hadn’t been seen over the past few days.

“When we got to the scene, we got into contact with police officers and Fire and Rescue units who had broken into the apartment,” said MDA paramedic Inbal Amzaleg.

“Neighbors told us that the women had not been seen [around the building] the past few days. Inside the apartment, we found [the two women], who had no vital signs, and after a short time they were declared dead.”
