On Wednesday morning IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot arrived at the scene of Tuesday night's shooting attack.

In the attack, Rabbi Raziel Shevach, 35, was murdered in a shooting attack as he drove near Havat Gilad in Samaria. He leaves behind a widow and six orphans.

The IDF is currently searching for the terrorists.

Eizenkot received briefings from the head of the IDF Central Command, Major General Roni Numa, as well as from Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brigadier General Eran Niv, and the Commander of the Samaria Regional Division, Col. Gilad Amit, Civil Administration Head Achvat Ben-Hur, and from Shabak (Israel Security Agency) officials.

Eizenkot also heard the details of the terror attack and the military operations which followed it. The Samaria Brigade secured the Jewish towns and the roads leading to them, and surrounded Shechem (Nablus) and other villages in the area. Intelligence operations were also carried out, in order to locate potential dangers.

"Our main task right now is to find the cell, arrest its members, and prevent additional incidents, as well as to prepare for continued operations in Judea and Samaria in the coming days," Eizenkot said.
