Yisrael Beiteinu party chairman Avigdor Liberman spoke at the opening of a faction meeting this afternoon calling for a boycott of Wadi Ara residents. Wadi Ara, which a search reveals to have produced a rich history of hostile fifth-column activity, sits in northern Israel at the meeting point of Samaria, the Menashe Heights, and the Sharon plain near the Umm El-Fahm hills. It is considered part of the "Triangle" concentration of Israeli Arab towns and villages and is a stronghold of the Islamic Movement in Israel and of Raed Salah, current leader of the movement's "Northern Faction".

"The subject of Wadi Ara certainly deserves to be put on the agenda. Those who saw the attack on the Temple Mount and the funeral afterwards in which thousands participated of the three young men from the Jabarin clan who murdered two Druze policemen; those who heard the sermons in the mosques, those who saw the violent demonstration about three days ago in Wadi Ara, when you add to this the terrorist who carried out the attack in central Tel Aviv and then murdered the taxi driver and you see the trend there, you can't ignore the fact that there are simply people who do not want to be part of the State of Israel," Liberman said.

He added, "They're trying to hurt us from the inside; we're not talking about isolated people, we are not talking about stray misfits, and when you take all the quotes and all the speeches of the leadership here in the Knesset, all these things pass quietly for some reason."

Liberman provided an example: "In a speech delivered here in the Knesset from the Knesset podium by Haj Yahya exactly a year ago, he said, 'I tell you, there is an Islamic religious ruling, a fatwa, which says that it is forbidden to sell one meter from the Arab Palestinian Islamic homeland. You ask me what the law is? According to this law he receives the death penalty. If you ask me I tell you he also deserves it; the law permits [killing him] and I support this law. If this is the law I allow it, if this is the a law what's the problem?' I want to see how you would respond if an MK from Yisrael Beiteinu said that a Jew who sells land from the Jewish homeland to a Palestinian deserves the death penalty. What would you yourself write, what would be your commentary, and what would the others write? This was said here in the Knesset from the Knesset podium, and this is not a bumpkin from Taibeh, some lone juvenile delinquent. So let's not continue in this direction."

The Defense Minister also spoke about the relatively tame riots that took place after the US President announced recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel.

"I think that we're deployed well, first of all the IDF, and the rest of the security forces, the Shin Bet, the police, helped us overcome those attempts to undermine public order, and in the end we managed to contain all incidents. It is true that individual terror has never been stopped; there are always attempts and we are constantly improving the system and trying to provide a solution to individual terror as well. I think that in general we did manage to contain the incident, and I hope things will calm down later this week," Liberman said.

Liberman was asked about the European attitude to the Trump declaration and said, "My advice and recommendation to the Europeans is to solve quite a few problems that are currently visiting Europe, I have not seen that the story of the Brexit is over, and we remember the riots in Catalonia and quite a few problems in the Balkans, and the Cyprus crisis has not yet been resolved. I suggest that they first solve the problems that plague Europe and then come to us."
