The leader of the Lithuanian haredi community, Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman, was released this morning from the Mayanei Hayeshua hospital in Bnei Brak.
The 103-year-old rabbi was hospitalized last week after suffering from fever and weakness, and spent several days in the intensive care unit.
Although the rabbi will be returning to his home in Bnei Brak, according to his confidants, he still needs rest and will not receive audiences in the near future.
Rabbi Steinman is considered to be the senior Litvish (as opposed to hassidic) Torah sage and halakhic leader. He serves as president of the Degel Hatorah Council of Torah Sages, guiding the party's Knesset members in their political activities.
