A 25-year old woman was bitten by a poisonous snake in the Golan Heights in northern Israel Sunday afternoon.

The woman was bitten while working in a vineyard, where a Vipera palaestinae, also known as the Israeli viper, had concealed itself.

After being bitten, the young woman was treated at the scene, then rushed to Ziv Hospital in Tzfat.

Hospital officials say the young woman is in moderate condition, and that she is stable. She was fully conscious when she was evacuated.
