A fire broke out at a ten story residential home on Shahal Street, the main through road in the Givat Mordechai neighborhood of Jerusalem, a predominantly religious Zionist area.
Magen David Adom paramedics who were called to the scene evacuated the victims,who suffered from smoke inhalation, to the nearby Shaare Tzedek Hospital and the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
Six teams of firefighters who were called to the scene were able to put out the fire and ventilate the building.
A spokesman for Jerusalem firefighting services said that there may have been an explosion before the fire, but that is still under investigation.
