Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu arrived in Kenya today (Tuesday) and was received by President Uhuru Kenyatta with a full ceremonial welcome.

Kenya is one of several stops in what is the first official visit by an Israeli Prime Minister in Africa in several decades.

The Prime Minister spoke briefly about the need to improve cooperation between Israel and African nations in the fight against terror.

"There is a raging battle of terrorism. From ISIS, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, Al Shabab; all these groups are attacking our world," Netanyahu said.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Israel's intelligence capabilities in combating terrorism worldwide, and expressed hope that these capabilities can be brought to bear with the cooperation of Kenya and other African nations.

"If you know that an attack is going to happen in advance, and you can preempt it and prevent it, that directly saves lives. Israel can help with that."
