A group of anti-Zionist protesters affiliated with the Neturei Karta movement demonstrated against the Walk With Israel in Toronto on Sunday, at the Princes’ Gate entrance to Exhibition Place.

The protesters waved PLO flags and erected signs reading “Jews Mourn 68 Years Existence of ‘Israel’ A Rebellion Against the Almighty and Disaster for Humanity,” and “Solution! Peace Dismantlement of the ‘Israeli’ State," among others.

Members of Neturei Karta in Canada have regularly participated in demonstrations and other events with pro-terror organizations like the Palestine House. In 2012 the Canadian government cut off funding for the Palestine House, noting its “pattern of support for extremism.”

Some marchers at the pro-Israel event organized a counter-demonstration across the street from the Neturei Karta protesters.

The counter-demonstration, led by Rananah Gemeiner, drew participants from the march to drown out the anti-Zionist slogans from the small Neturei Karta delegation.

“We must never remain silent when anyone attacks and vilifies Israel – whether it be Jews or non-Jews” Gemeiner told CIJ News.
