Don't be fooled by the high cloud cover on Friday, as most portions of Israel are in for a jump in temperatures up to heat wave proportions over the course of the day.

The partial clouds are to continue on Shabbat, even as the temperature continues to rise amid a heat wave covering most of the country. Light local rains and haze may be experienced in certain areas.

However, the weekend hot streak is not to last much into next week.

Sunday is anticipated to be partially cloudy again, but there will be a noted drop in temperatures even as they are to remain above seasonal norms. Local rains are predicted, primarily in the east and south of Israel.

Then on Monday the weather is to be partially cloudy to clear, and the temperature is to take another significant drop.

Predicted temperatures for Friday are as follows: 30° C (86° F) in Katzrin, 33° C (91° F) in Tiberias, 29° C (84° F) in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Ariel as well, 28° C (82° F) in Jerusalem, 34° C (93° F) at the Dead Sea, and a balmy 36° C (96° F) in Eilat.
