Jewish billionaire Sheldon Adelson recently expressed his willingness to support Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for president in 2016.

Israeli political blogger Tal Schneider reportedly obtained video of Adelson at a gala event in Las Vegas stating: “Trump is a businessman. I am a businessman. He employs a lot of people. I employed 50,000 people. Why not?”

Although the pro-Israel philanthropist and backer of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said he would support Trump should he win the GOP presidential nomination, he has yet to openly back any presidential candidate.

“It reminds me of (a joke): One Jewish man said to another Jewish man, ‘Do you know why Jews always answer a question with a question?’ So, the guy said, ‘Why not?’” Adelson then reportedly joked: “If I were running I would have endorsed myself.”

The footage acquired by Schneider was filmed during an event held at the Adelson-owned Venetian Resort honoring former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has also expressed support for Trump, though he has not made an official endorsement either.

"The real Trump is thoughtful, intelligent and very well-educated. He has extensive political knowledge, and he chooses to support good people," Giuliani told Israel Hayom, which is owned by Adelson.

“They’re all going to get behind Donald Trump,” Giuliani said of Republicans. “Here’s one thing we’re united about - we do not want Hillary Clinton as president of the United States.”
