Three men aged in their 40s were moderately injured in two separate paragliding accidents that took place Friday morning, all in Israel's south.
Two of the gliders crashed into a water reserve adjacent to Kibbutz Revadim, located to the east of Ashdod.
Forces from the 669 rescue unit of the Israeli Air Force were called up to save the two who were trapped in the water reserve. By using a helicopter and a boat, they were able to prevent them from drowning in the reserve.
The two were classified as moderately injured, and were treated by Magen David Adom (MDA) forces before being evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva while suffering from hypothermia.
But that wasn't all for the paragliding calamities on Friday, as just an hour later a third glider crashed in Ashdod's Keshatot Beach, not far from the site of the first accident.
MDA medics provided medical treatment to the glider, who was around 46 years of age, and evacuated him to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon. He was classified as being in moderate condition, and suffering from an injury to his back.
